David Petrie

David Petrie – Guitar and Bass

David Petrie is owner and founder of the Dearborn School of Music.  Petrie earned both a Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Music in composition from Wayne State University.  He has toured both nationally and internationally, and published Guitar and Theory Made Easy.  Petrie has over 26 years of teaching experience.


Ann Quinlan

Ann Quinlan – Piano and Voice

Ann has been playing piano for 14 years, and has been singing for about as long.  She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Organ Performance with a certification in piano teaching from Madonna University.  In addition to teaching piano and voice, she is also a music minister at Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Detroit.


Anna Jones

Anna Jones – Piano and Accordion

Russian born and graduated from Far Eastern State Academy of Art with degrees in music history, music theory and piano performance. Anna has taught music and piano for over 20 years at Catholic schools, music schools, as well as private instruction. Ms. Jones was formerly a choir director, accompanist, and composer of parts for the Russian Catholic Mass at Most Holy Mother of God Catholic Church in Vladivostok, Russia.


Blake Pruneau

Blake Pruneau – Piano

Blake has recently begun a Master's of Music Theory and Composition at Wayne State University after completing a bachelor's degree in piano in performance.  They have had collaborative opportunities with the Wayne State Wind Symphony, Orchestra, Choral Union, and Concert Chorale.  Blake has teaching specialties in theory and pedagogy and has 17 years of experience playing and performing.  Blake believes in helping others find joy in playing music and meeting each person where they are on their musical journey.


Chelcey Daniels

Chelcey Daniels – Guitar, Bass, and Piano

Chelcey Daniels is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where she studied Elementary Education.  Paired with her 16 years of piano experience, she works with her students to create an interactive and fun piano classroom.


Jason Lamb

Jason Lamb – Guitar and Bass

As a graduate of Wayne State University in Jazz Studies, Jason Lamb brings more than 22 years of teaching experience to the Dearborn School of Music.  He performs regularly with the corporate band Trilogy, as well as the Henry Ford College Jazz Band.


Jessica Morang

Jessica Morang – Voice and Piano

Jessica Morang has sung for various choirs in Dearborn, including the jazz choir Blue Fusion at HFCC, and Vanguard Voices. She is a classically trained soprano and has sung at many weddings. Jessica sang for two years as a soprano and soloist for Littlefield Presbyterian Church in Dearborn. Mrs.Morang has experience performing both classical and contemporary music, as well as musical theatre pieces using her training from Oakland University. Jessica wishes to be more involved in the opera world in the future as it is her favorite style to teach.


Kevin E. Phillips

Kevin E. Phillips – Piano, Drums, Woodwinds, and Brass

Kevin E. Phillips II is a lifelong classical musician.  He started writing music at 2, conducting at 4 and performing at 11.  He has toured Europe as a guest soloist twice and is currently starting his masters in orchestral conducting.  He has been teaching for 17 years and plays/teaches every orchestral instrument.


Marilyn McKenna

Marilyn McKenna – Strings

Marilyn McKenna has a BA in music from MSU and MA in music from EMU in addition to having Suzuki training.  Marilyn has taught music in the public schools and privately.


Nicholas Caruana

Nicholas Caruana – Violin

Nicholas is a violinist who received his Bachelor's of Music Education from Madonna University.  In addition to teaching private lessons, he teaches music as a school teacher.


Rachel Pearson

Rachel Pearson – Piano, Guitar, Voice, and Strings

Rachel Pearson teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, violin and upright bass. She works with beginner and intermediate musicians of all ages.  She especially enjoys working with beginner students.  In her lessons she uses a combination of method books, music of interest and song writing to build a foundation in reading and writing music, music theory, positive practice habits, and performance skills.  Rachel completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music at Wayne State University and has been teaching private music lessons and group classes for over 15 years.  She performs folk, bluegrass, old time and traditional Irish music in the Detroit area.


Raphique

Raphique Barakat – Guitar and Oud

Raphique has been playing guitar for 17 years and oud for 3. He has a positive attitude and will tailor his lessons based on the student’s skill level, even students who have never played.  With the oud, Raphique will go through the maqam and teach the student how to hold the instrument, tune it, and the theory behind the sounds.


Sean Perlmutter

Sean Perlmutter – Drums

Sean Perlmutter is a drummer, bandleader, and music educator based in Detroit, MI. He began playing and teaching professionally at age 16 and moved to Detroit at 18 to attend Wayne State University where he earned a Bachelor's of Music with a concentration in Jazz Studies.  Sean maintains an active performance schedule around Metro Detroit and beyond; serves on the education team at Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts; and is a prolific recording artist, regularly releasing music on his own label, Spiritual Slop Records.
